Minimum Wages and the Impact to the Organization –beyond Dollars and Cents

Minimum wage is a hot topic nowadays among HR industry. On April 20, 2011, eeVoices organized with FlexSystem a HR conference, inviting speakers share their views about the impact of minimum wages on various companies.

Speakers:

Winnie Ng, consultant of Miler Ellison. Winnie is one of the few employment lawyers in the market with multi-lingual capability and who specializes in both Hong Kong and PRC employment laws. Winnie has particular strength in advising statutory bodies, financial institutions and multinational corporations on complex issues relating to hiring and termination, employee benefits and compensation, data privacy, anti-discrimination laws, employee handbooks and policies. With rich litigation experience, Winnie also advises clients in relation to employment disputes in the Labour Tribunal and courts.

Ms. Christine Lui, Senior Unit Manager, Deputy of District Director and Corporate Solution Committee at AIA Portfolio Management. Mr. Jay T.C. Cheng, Unit Manager, AIA Portfolio Management. He is specializing in research and market analysis information.  Their division has managed over a client portfolio of over fifty million HKD. In this session, the two speakers shared their insights in the specific areas for the Minimum Wages policy changes, such as the potential impact in employer employee relationship with the Minimum Wages policy; best practices in MPF and Group Medical Plans that could positively incent and motivate employees, minimize HR and employer workload and processes, and improve employer employee relationships.
